Anderson Cooper of CNN talks with the Trump family

Yesterday I saw the entire family of Donald Trump, getting interviewed by Anderson Cooper on CNN. Those present on the stage included Donald Trump himself, his second wife Melania Trump, his two sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump as well as his two beautiful daughters Iraka (the elder one) and Tiffany (the younger one).  It looked like a conversation which had preplanned answers by his children,as if they had been strictly advised by the Presidential front-runner,not to speak a word,on any contentious issue at all and keep eulogizing their dad as much as they could. All five of his family members did precisely that. A conscious and deliberate effort to avoid answering tricky questions was clearly seen. And at the same time, none of them missed a single opportunity to praise Donald Trump. It was a well-drafted professional performance by the Trump family. When his wife Melania was asked, whether Donald treats her son Barron on an equal platform, as the others, she answered in...

US Presidential elections 2016 -- Analysis and Interpretation of the latest news

The results of the republican race for South Carolina primary were announced today. They did raise some eyebrows, however, most of them were as expected. On the other hand, Nevada results didnot cause too much excitement amongst the Democrats, as Hillary emerged as a clear winner.  In the Republican race, Donald Trump secured 32.5% votes and won the South Carolina primary. Some eyebrows were raised when Marco Rubio was seen coming second with 22.5% votes overtaking Ted Cruz by a wafer-thin margin of 0.2%. Cruz secured 22.3% votes whilst Jeb Bush got a meagre 7.8% and so did John Kasich (7.6%) and Ben Carson ( 7.1%). Jeb Bush announced that he was withdrawing his name from the Republican race because of a very lukewarm response in the last 3 primary results ( Iowa, New Hampshire and now South Carolina ).  With the deduction of Jeb Bush, this now leaves only 5 candidates eyeing for the republican nomination. Pandits say that shortly there will remain only three of them...

Interpretation and Implications of Bihar Assembly Election Results

Yesterday the results of Bihar assembly elections that were held recently, in the eastern state of Bihar were announced. Out of a total of 243 assembly seats the alliance of Janta Dal ( United ) with other parties got 180 seats, while its main opposition the ruling party at the centre, the National Democratic Alliance ( NDA ) got just 56 seats, while other indepedants got 7 seats. This heavy loss was a huge setback for the aspirations of the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) led by the PM of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, while it was a landslide victory for the Janata Dal United led by Bihar Chief Minister NitishKumar and his ally RJD ( Rashtriya Janata Dal ) led by the former CM Laloo Prasad Yadav.  This election was fought over 5 phases of voting. It had all the essential ingredients of an assembly election like the drama, different types of comments, etc. However the results were totally unexpected for most political analysts of this country. Nobody even thought of such a huge de...
