Trump and Greenland

When Donald J Trump said last February that he would love to have Canada as the 51st and Greenland as the 52nd US state, not many got interested, because they thought he was joking. Not any more..
Now everyone connected to geopolitics is absolutely interested and as a matter of fact, shocked to know he was really serious when he first talked about annexation of Greenland into the territorial atlas of the United States of America! But nothing to be so surprised of, about that. Afterall, that's how he is. That's how his style of working as the POTUS is! 

In the last 10 days, this talk about Trump getting his troops ready to enter, confiscate and then merge the Arctic region of Greenland with the 50 existing states of the US, is gathering momentum gradually. This has caused panic within the political spheres of European countries, because they consider Greenland to be a part of the scandanevian region of the country called Denmark, which is located in the northern part of the continent of Europe. Trump gave out clear signals yesterday in his press conference at the White House yesterday that he is NOT going back on what he has already said about his desire of amalgamation of Greenland into the United States. After that, the European Union (EU) leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron, EU chief Ursula, British Prime minister Starmer and so many other European leaders have literally gone berserk. They have started attacking Trump in whichsoever manner they can. Ursula has warned Trump about the consequences the US could face if it invaded Greenland. Macron has expressed his views "Now is not the time for such imperialistic actions." Starmer has also expressed his sharp opinion on the results that would come through, if Trump decides to confiscate Greenland. 

That said and done, let's now dive into the geo-political, social as well as economic implications of this new development: 

In the first week of this new year, Trump decided to invade Venezuela and capture its rebellious President Maduro. He ordered his troops and then did the job, with a pinpoint accuracy! Maduro got captured but to everyone's surprise not even a single American got killed in this military operation! A few hours later Maduro was taken to NewYork for his trial. He is now destined to face severe punishment because of the severe crimes he himself committed inside his country. 

A few days post this, Trump declared that the USA will make 50% use of the funds created by selling Venezuelan oil to the world and that would amount to billions of dollars. After that, the whole of America went into a jubilant mood! 

However, Trump had more skeletons in his cupboards yet. He suddenly declared on twitter that Greenland must become a part of the United States of America, because without it, the safety of the American public would get compromised. "If we, the Americans, do not take it rightnow, either Russia or China will definitely grab it one day!": that is what he started saying, after that brief speech. His rhetoric grew louder by each passing day!

Review of "Dhurandhar" movie

Drawn by its massive hype, yesterday I went to a nearby INOX cinema to watch "Dhurandhar" starring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, etc.  I was not so impressed by this movie as it contains truckloads of violence and abuses. Thus, it's not a decent movie, the likes of which one can watch alongside his family.  The acting of Akshaye Khanna is good but not that great as what has been hyped about  by the media, so far. Not that he has failed to try his best. He has indeed tried hard and succeeded in putting up a very good performance. But the script of the film is full of violence and bad words. He too speaks a lot of abuses. I don't like these things, basically and hence on a personal level, I won't give him much more rating than a 7 out of 10.  As a matter of fact, I found the role of Ranveer Singh much better, until the last hour of the film. The real reason behind Trump's tariffs on India

US President Trump has been extremely harsh, almost hostile, towards India in the last 1 month, especially in the last fortnight. He has made remarks about India in the same tone as he would make while talking about Iran. Every geopolitical analyst worldwide is shocked as to why the President has turned so bad for India. In India, the stock markets have plunged by about 4% after Trump declared his new "50% tariff on India" plan.  Though it's common-sense-lacking-journalists like Arnab Goswami, would keep challanging Trump that nothing substantial would happen to the Indian economy because of the 50% tariffs on US imports, the underlying current as is obvious, is that of caution and rather sad.
