The real reason behind Trump's tariffs on India

US President Trump has been extremely harsh, almost hostile, towards India in the last 1 month, especially in the last fortnight. He has made remarks about India in the same tone as he would make while talking about Iran. Every geopolitical analyst worldwide is shocked as to why the President has turned so bad for India. In India, the stock markets have plunged by about 4% after Trump declared his new "50% tariff on India" plan.

Though it's common-sense-lacking-journalists like Arnab Goswami, would keep challanging Trump that nothing substantial would happen to the Indian economy because of the 50% tariffs on US imports, the underlying current as is obvious, is that of caution and rather sad. It's been "a paradigm shift" virtually in Trump's behaviour towards India now and it seems irreversible atleast for the next year or two. Scratching their heads, the Indian financial analysts and pundits of International geopolitics still can't find a logical explanation to this new development. However, after a deeper study, have found this as a very likely logical explanation for Trump's new found hatred for India:

He was already slightly critical about India's import of Russian Oil before 1 and a half month, somewhere around July 10. We all know that. But then came the visit of the wily Pakistani General Asif Munir to the White House. He received a very welcome from the Trump administration. It was like the Americans suddenly, effortlessly and surprisingly realised the geostrategic importance of Pakistan in the asian subcontinent! So there was a grand dinner between the two leaders - Munir and Trump inside the White House, where Kababs and Biryanis were served in a rather Pakistani style of cooking. The crooked Pakistani General didn't waste time and took this opportunity to start heavily applauding and praising Trump and all what he has achieved in his two presidential terms so far. He was cleverly able to spot Trump's biggest weakness - "heavy flattery!"

India stands 10th and not 1st as importer of Russian goods

Munir had come to the US with a predetermined plan in his mind. Now was the time to execute that plan. He praised Trump for being successful in stopping their war with India, back home in Asia. Then he praised him for being able to stop the conflict between Israel and Iran, as well as for his efforts in the war between Israel and Palestinians in the city of Gaza. "You, Mr. President have already done such work this year, that I hereby nominate you from my end, for being the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2025...! It would be an honor for me to do so." Those last words were beautiful enough to melt Donald. He absolutely fell flat after that. His other side came out now.

As we all know by now, Trump has 2 sides to his personality, alike most of us have. The first one is the rugged, tough guy we normally see him, speaking to the press, and on negotiating tables. The other side is this kid, who just gets blown away by some kind words and dreamy phrases. Munir, very tactfully, brought this 2nd side of Trump out in the public domain. Suddenly, Trump started hugging him and looking extremely friendly to him!

Two men, who hardly knew each other just before an hour, were now behaving as two childhood friends who were meeting each other after missing each other for several decades! The bonhomie was evident. Trump was now acting all from his heart, assuming that the Pakistani General was a very nice guy, who selflessly nominated him for a global prize as huge as a Nobel Peace Prize. Little did he know about vicious, cunning nature of Munir in that his purpose was to first win the heart of Trump and then make a very big demand from him. Trump never knew what was coming next, from the General.

As the dinner was going on, sensing the best timing, Munir had his shot - "Dear President sir, I would like to say something about the ongoing Russia vs Ukraine war" - he said.

"Ya, why not, General? Go ahead." - Trump said. (He was as if now inside the General's pocket!)

"Ok, sir." - the General said. "With your due permission, let me tell you a harsh fact. This war is all because of India. With due regards to you and your efforts to end it, you can not end it unless you do something about India."

"Oh, really! But how is it about India?" - Trump said in a rather unsure voice.

"Yes, let me explain that. Russia has been able to attack on Ukraine now for more than 3 and a half years. For that it needs a lot of money. Where does that money come from? It's coming from India. You see, Russia sells its oil to India, right? Hundreds of thousands of tons of it, each year. India is paying millions of dollars to Russia for that. Russia is using that money to manufacture and/or buy military equipments - bombs, guns and other arsenal. It uses them against Ukraine to kill the Ukrainians. It's destroying that country by using Indian money. India has the option of buying oil from other places too - like Saudi Arabia, the US, Venezuela, etc. But why is it specifically buying it from Russia? Because it wants the destruction of Ukraine. It wants that so many Ukrainians die each day. So the main villain here is India. It's leader Modi is such a nasty person. He is the one who doesn't want peace in the world, so that other nations keep fighting and thus destroying each other whereas he keeps boasting about the development of his nation. If you can stop India from purchasing Russian oil, this war will end the next day. I sincerely urge you, dear President sir, to stop India from purchasing Russian oil anyhow or impose heavy tariffs on it." Wow, wow, wow! What a point - "stop India from buying Russian oil or this war can't be stopped! India is the main villain. It's Modi's war!!"😳 All this stuff - total NONSENSE. What has the purchase of Russian oil by India to do with war? Absolutely nothing. How is India involved, directly or indirectly, in this war? In November way at all. But Trump was by then, already under a cloud - the mysterious cloud of flattery, that stops the logical side of your brain from working. The quantity of the feel good hormone dopamine is so high, it prevents you from observing and thinking about the reality. You just don't want to say "no" to your beloved ones any more. Who was the beloved one to Trump in that dinner party? Munir. Trump couldn't say a "no" to him.

Munir, by then, had played his card. Trump accepted his point, wholeheartedly! He promised Munir that he will review the entire US foreign policy with the hidden enemy called India!

The fact of the matter is out of all the importers of Russian goods, India stands 10th in the list, way behind China, Turkey etc. But Trump decided to single out India. That decision was like a gift to Munir's flattery.

Two men, who hardly knew each other before an hour, now suddenly turned into "best friends!" All the formal handshakes literally transformed into informal hugs and a flurry of imaginative, poetic showers of dreamy words - from both sides. Trump started calling the General, "a very skillful, a highly accomplished gentleman from a great country Pakistan!" Just before a few months in a press conference, it was he himself who had called Pakistan, "a nasty country, a hub of terrorism." But he forgot all that in a few seconds! Now Pakistan was "a great country" for him. Why? Because it's leader was successful in changing his mood  with his cunning strategy of praises, howsoever big lies they may be!!🤔 He promised Munir that he will definitely rethink about whatever he has said about India being the main villain.

After Munir left the US shores, Trump took action on what he has promised Asif Munir. He came to the conclusion "Yes, I finally caught this one. Now, I have a solution to this bloody war. It's Modi's war not the one between Russia & Ukraine. I HAVE TO stop India from buying Russian oil. Once that money stops going to Russian pockets, this war will stop automatically. That's the only way out and thanks to Munir, the Pakistani General, I found a way out."😳😳
9 out of 10 people in their right sense of mind, will not agree at all with this logic. There is absolutely NO CONNECTION between India buying Russian oil and the continuation of this war. Even statistics don't comply with what Munir tried to establish:

It's China and not India, which is the chief importer from Russia. As can be seen in the attachment /photo, India comes way down in the list of Russian goods importers at number 10. Against China's total Russian goods imports of 77 billion $ in 2024, India imported Russian goods only worth 10 billion $ in the same period in 2024. The 2nd and 3rd largest importers of Russian goods are Turkey and Belarus. Mr.Trump, why don't you have a look at this list? Why are you not taking any action against countries like China, Turkey and Belarus who are importing much more goods from Russia compared to what India is? This is because you have fallen flat against the flattery showered so unethically upon you by that crooked Pakistani fox, Munir. The effect has been so severe that you have lost your right sense of judgment, your intellect and even your business acumen, for which even I admired you just a few days ago. Your new found stupid "love" for the Pakistan General and everything related to Pakistan, will have grave consequences in future, Mr.Trump. You can't have snakes in your backyard and mind you, these Pakistanis are nothing less than snakes. If you will nourish then today, they will come biting you yourself, tomorrow.

Secondly, by your foolish anti-India rhetoric and weird narratives about India fueling this war, you are gradually and certainly destroying a wonderful friendship between India and the US, now. How can you forget, the kind of extremely warm welcome you got when you visited India in 2020? How can you forget that the world was tired of finding Osama Bin Laden, the most dreaded terrorist, who was finally found living inside Pakistan for a decade? How can you turn such a terror nation into a friend all of a sudden? Please regain your senses, before it's too late for America, Mr. President because as of now India is already a very powerful country and will certainly find new alternatives if US starts closing its doors for India. But, it will be extremely difficult for the US to do the same against India for a longer period of time.
