With the historic thunderous win of Narendra Modi in the General Elections of 2019, the political equations have changed enormously, not only for just India but internationally.
A detailed look at "what can be expected from Modi Sarkar 2.0" (Modi Government version 2.0) seems mouth-wateringly interesting. Let's examine the Pros and Cons of the entire chain of events of the last few days since May 23.
It is beyond doubt that Narendra Modi of the 2019-24 era will be somewhat different from that of 2014-19 era. Having acquired a massive 353 out of 543 seats in the Parliament, he is at the pinnacle of his political career. His rivals have just faced total humiliation at the hands of the citizens of India. He can choose to be authoritarian and dictatorial if he desires so. He can choose to be friendly and democratic if he desires so. The verdict is totally in his favor. So what will he be like??
(1) Radical Steps like Demonetization and GST:-
--------------------------------------------
These two were the most controversial steps taken by him in his first tenure. The opposition tried to project them as his huge failures but with these results in his huge favor, he will definitely go ahead with Demonetization part 2 once again or any such similar scheme wherein he can catch the black money hoarders napping. He had already indicated this when he was speaking at a college function in Goa early this year. One might also remember him telling that he has got a series of such measures in his mind right then. I am sure this gujju will bring into force most of them. In short, the black money hoarders have tougher days ahead of them.
GST was criticized as being high for the general public due to which its rates got slashed (mostly from 18% to 5%) after the financial budget of february 2019. This revision was seen as Modi govt. being forced to go on the back foot by congress and other opposition leaders. Now since he has regained power, GST is likely to get increased again (from 5% to 12%) just to show his rivals as to "who is the boss now" and also as a part of better tax accumulation exercises. Apart from the above two, he will definitely surprise everybody with some new financial policy/scheme as he did when he announced the demonetization policy on November 8th, 2016.
(2) Propagation of his policies of 2014-19 era:-
-------------------------------------------------
He will continue to propagate his ongoing policies like "swachchh bharat abhiyan", "make in India", "beti bachao" "maa amritam yojna" "jan-dhan yojna" etc. and in a more vigorous manner this time. In Swachchh bharat yojna, he will become stricter compared to last time and ask for penalties from those throwing litter and dust here and there. In Jan-Dhan Yojna he may ask for a minimum deposit of Rs.100 in those crores of new bank accounts that he managed to open between 2014 and 2019. In short, he will continue to propagate his successful schemes with a slightly more vigor this time.
(3) Policy towards neighbors:-
------------------------------------------------
Although Pakistan PM Imran khan seems to be very keen to befriend Modi and thus India, Modiji will continue with his neutral rather hostile policy towards Pakistan. Yet its highly doubtful if he would be able to bring back 1993 Mumbai blast prime accused Dawood Ibrahim or expatriate Hafiz Sayeed, the mastermind of 2008 Mumbai attacks. If at all he manages to bring even one of them into India and punish them, he will undoubtedly and categorically make it a huge propaganda issue to win the next-in-line elections. His policies towards China will remain unchanged. He might become more hostile towards SriLanka though.
(4) Minorities as well as the poor:-
---------------------------------------------
Yesterday he said in the first BJP Parliamentary speech of the 17th loksabha that the muslims and the dalits have been constantly cheated by the congress party. That shows that he will try harder this time to win the trust of muslims, even those clergyman type conservative muslims. But he will take equal care that the hindus don't feel hurt, in this process. His main priority will be more focused towards hindus only.
His announcement of an aid of Rs.6000 per year to each economically backward family irrespective of his caste, was also one of the contributing factors for his massive success in recent elections. He will still announce a couple of more such schemes to win the hearts of the poor. His timing will be very crucial and perfect here - he will announce them either at the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024 or near some assembly election, where he would seem to be losing ground.
(5) Ram Mandir and Article 370:-
----------------------------------------------
I dare say here that by the end of 2023 (latest), a huge Ram Temple at Ayodhya will have got established with all its glitter and glory. Modi will spare no grounds to garner hindu votes for General Elections of 2024.
As regards abolition of Article 370, giving unnecessary special privileges to the muslims of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, that also either will be done by 2024 or in the process of getting done.
(6) Other issues:-
----------------------------
Modi and his team of highly efficient cabinet ministers will continue to perform very well in all their respective fields, just as what they did in their last term. Mr. Nitin Gadkari will continue supervising the construction of more and more lengths of roads, bridges and such other infrastructure projects if he becomes the Transport Minister once again. The budgets towards expenses made for indian forces like indian army, navy and air force will increase sizably. Modi will personally look into the modernization of weaponry and armament provided to each and every indian soldier ans make them state-of-the-art and up-to-the-mark. By 2024, Indian Armed Forces will be one of the best on the planet.
Other facets of governance like health department, education, social welfare, women upliftment will be equally taken care of.
Having said all these, it becomes equally important to say that Modi's own health will deteriorate after 2021 and will not remain as fit as he is right now. This will surely have some impact on his style of functioning. Yet he will clearly manage to find a way in this too.
In short, Modi Sarkar 2.0 will be a period in which we indians, will witness a golden phase of development, new vigor and overall prosperity for entire country. It will not be an authoritarian type of government as some have started being apprehensive of right from this time. Modi will be working in his own democratic style, allowing opportunities of personal and combined growth to each and every individual of this great country and in the process India will reach greater heights of progress and glory in the next 5 years to come.
